Exhibiton Identity
2022

The concept behind the first-year MFA exhibition at the Yale School of Art came from the intricate thought process involved in printmaking, where reversing one's thinking is essential for achieving the correct image orientation. Our focus was on the transition experienced by first-year students as they shifted from an outsider's perspective to an insider's. This transformation was symbolized by a matrix motif—an "X" over a cross—which became a prominent visual element throughout the graphic identity of the exhibition. Vinyl material was strategically applied to various gallery surfaces, featuring elements that highlighted the reverse of this matrix motif. This identity was designed in collaboration with my cohort peer Osvald Landmark.
